I take extra care to ensure my expectant mothers are comfortable. I perform prenatal massage in the sideline position with cushions to alleviate the extra strain on the lower back and pelvic areas. Extra strain in these areas can cause unnecessary pain, so naturally I want to avoid any potential discomfort.

SKIN
Natural oils such as, jojoba, avocado and coconut will be used for this massage, along with a base oil. These oils will help hydrate and moisturize your skin and especially a dry itchy tummy. Massage can increase the blood supply in the treatment area, which will then help reduce the signs of stretching in the skin. Natural oils are said to assist in the prevention of stretch marks during this nurturing massage.

STAYING HEALTHY
Women with normal, low-risk pregnancies can benefit greatly from massage. However, women in high-risk pregnancies should consult their doctor or midwife before massage therapy.
